Animal protection and down duvets
Only Downpass-certified down and feathers from animals that have not been plucked live or have not been fattened are used for bedding with the VSB seal of quality. Raw materials that are available as by-products from the processing of other products find a practical re-use in duvets and pillows.
Down and feathers are characterised by their insulating and supportive properties. People have been using this natural product for thousands of years because of its natural heat retention, breathability and resilience. Bedding filled with down and feathers is therefore always a good choice, and with the VSB seal of quality, they are guaranteed to be manufactured in a way that is kind to animals.
Downpass certification
Sustainability and animal welfare are always a priority for the Swiss Bedding Manufacturer’s Association. In order to guarantee animal-friendly production and to offer customers transparency, all VSB members are certified according to the international Downpass standard. This means that no down and feathers from live plucking or fattening are used in the bedding produced by VSB member companies, and that the supply chains are traceable and strictly controlled.
With the mandatory certification for all association members, VSB is a pioneer in its industry worldwide and thus underlines its commitment against live plucking and to animal welfare.
